My morning routine would not be complete without drinking a glass of water. I always drink some room temperature water with a slice of lemon prior to getting up. This is done even before I open my eyes so I can enjoy fully the sensation of the water passing through my mouth and throat. Somehow the water cleanse me from inside and help me have a clean slate to face the day.
Our body is over 60% water
Our body is made of over 60% of water and during the 8 hours of sleep we’ve just had, no liquid passed our mouth. Drinking water allows our body to restart, boost our energy, cures aches and pain, flushes out toxins, improves blood circulation and uplifts our mood. I found that it allows me to exercise, meditate and shower without feeling the need to eat for the first hour after my alarm rings. To be truthful, my alarm doesn’t ring so I should say before the birds sing me good morning!
Beautiful water molecules
My interest in learning about the benefits of water came after reading an eye-opening article many years ago about Dr Masaru Emoto. This Japanese scientific demonstrated in a book how water molecules would change their formation when exposed to positive or negative intentions. The high-speed photographs of the frozen molecule exposed to spoken or written words are absolutely fascinating as you can see that positive words can restore the beautiful geometric assembly of water molecules.
Here are the photos of the water molecule after being expose to the words mourning and happiness. I definitely know which one I prefer! I like to put my water glass on the picture of the water molecule exposed to happiness and feel like happiness enters my body when I drink my water. Wheter or not it is dur to a placebo effect, it works for me!
The power of positive thoughts
The idea from Masaru Emoto showing how water changes depending to the words it is exposed to, got me thinking. If we are made of more than 60% water, surely we could with positive thoughts change a big part of ourselves. The importance to stay positive and use a positive language could be much more effective than just keeping our mind focused on the desired outcome, it could also change the structure of our body and made us much more radiant. This idea is well described in the phrase “shining from the inside” or “she’s glowing” when describing a happy pregnant woman.
Water does much more than just keeping us hydrated, it also keep our mind and body healed. Spending time by a lake, river or sea reconnects us with nature, calms our mind, feeds our creative spirit, guide us to find answers deep inside us and pushes us to look ahead towards the future. If you don’t leave nearby water, you can always enjoy a healing session by taking a shower or a bath. For good reasons, many of us place high on the list of perfect me time, taking a long bath. The experience can be even better with a few candles, nice music, a good book and a glass of wine!
